The Panasonic Lumix DMC FZ150 utilizes digital zoom by cropping the image and enlarging the pixels to simulate a zoom effect. This can result in a loss of image quality as the image is essentially being magnified. Long exposure on the FZ150 allows the camera's sensor to gather light over an extended period of time, resulting in brighter and more detailed images in low light conditions. However, it is important to use a tripod to avoid camera shake when using long exposure to prevent blurry images. **
