One can determine if a body possesses energy by observing its ability to do work or cause a change. Energy is the capacity of a system to perform work, so if a body is able to exert a force or cause motion, it possesses energy. Additionally, energy can be stored in various forms such as kinetic energy (energy of motion), potential energy (stored energy), thermal energy (heat), or chemical energy (stored in chemical bonds). By identifying the presence of any of these forms of energy in a body, one can determine that it possesses energy. **

One can determine if an object possesses energy by observing its ability to do work or cause a change. If an object can exert a force or move another object, it is likely to possess energy. Additionally, the position, motion, or composition of an object can also indicate the presence of energy. For example, an object at a higher position has gravitational potential energy, while an object in motion possesses kinetic energy. Therefore, by considering these factors, one can determine if an object possesses energy. **
